Sangria

Use a red or white Spanish wine, rioja is a good choice and affordable.
Ingredients
1 bottle wine
1 C rum or brandy
¼ to ½ C sugar, to taste
1 small apple, diced with peel on
1 small orange, diced with peel on
Handful of grapes, cut in half

Ingredients
1 bottle wine
1 C rum or brandy
¼ to ½ C sugar, to taste
1 small apple, diced with peel on
1 small orange, diced with peel on
Handful of grapes, cut in half
Directions
- In a large pitcher, use a wooden spoon to mash the cut-up fruit with the sugar, until the sugar begins to melt and become syrupy.
- Add wine and rum; stir to combine.
- Refrigerate until cold or serve over ice. Use the wooden spoon to hold back fruit while pouring; then to scoop fruit into each glass.
